HPD breaks ground on new Fondren Police Station

The Houston Police Department Monday broke ground on its new Fondren Police Station.

The City of Houston and the Houston Police Department Monday broke ground at what will become the new Fondren Police Station. Chief Charles McClelland and other city leaders held a ceremony at the project site which sits at Westplace Drive and South Gessner. When completed, the new 29,000 square foot station will house short term holding cells, administrative offices, a narcotics investigative unit and a tactical unit.

The building will adhere to green building standards and house 17 officers.
