Two communities are honoring U.S. service members who lost their lives in Afghanistan. Patriot Guard riders escorted the body of 26-year-old Marine Sergeant Brandon Bury to a memorial in Kingwood Saturday. Neighbors lined the route to Saint Martha Church and waved American flags to show support for Bury's family. The Kingwood High School graduate drowned June 6 when his Humvee flipped into a pool of water.

Across town, mourners gathered for the funeral of a soldier from Cypress. Army Specialist Matthew Catlett was buried at Houston National Cemetery Saturday. He leaves behind two young daughters, who were given the flag draped over their father's coffin. Catlett was a graduate of Cypress Ridge High School. He and three other soldiers died last week when a roadside bomb struck their vehicle.
