Rescued dog makes journey from Iraq to Houston

HOUSTON Toby is a yellow lab mix and is about six months old. He's here in Houston after making a long trip from Iraq. His journey from overseas to the Bayou City includes a heartwarming gesture by troops stationed near the Al Asad Airbase.

He was found by service members stationed at the airbase when he was around three months old. Toby lived at the airbase for a couple months, then he departed Iraq on April 27. The pooch arrived in the United States on May 3.

Toby received a big Texas welcome from members of Red Collar Rescue at a reception in Houston on Thursday.
