Police are seeking five suspects in the fatal shooting of a man Wednesday night in northwest Houston. The incident happened in the 1900 block of Spenwick about 11:40pm on Tuesday night. The victim, Juan Jose Sanchez, 19, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead.

Police say Sanchez and his friend were driving on Spenwick and got into a traffic altercation with five unknown male suspects, who were traveling slowly in a small gray vehicle. As Sanchez and his friend tried to drive around the males' vehicle, the suspects made hand gestures and an argument ensued.

Sanchez and his friend drove to an apartment complex at 1950 Spenwick and entered the driveway. One of the suspects in the gray vehicle then shot Sanchez and fled the scene. Sanchez's friend attempted to take him to the hospital but Sanchez died on the way.

The suspects are described only as five Hispanic males, between 16 and 24 years of age.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
