The body was identified by fingerprints to be Beverly Sanders of Houston. The truck found at the scene belonged to her.
Upon further investigation, investigators found there to be heavy trauma to her head and neck. Authorities believe Sanders was assaulted at another location.
The Galveston County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
