November 5, 2009 10:42:43 AM PST
Police have arrested a 31-year-old Boyce woman after she reportedly left her two-year-old son sleeping alone at a home while she went to an Alexandria neighborhood to burglarize cars. Stacey Bordelon was booked late Wednesday night with child desertion, vehicle burglary and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Authorities say a resident called police to say a woman was going around the area checking the doors of vehicles to see if they were locked.

After being arrested, Bordelon told police she had left her 2-year-old son alone at a home. Police discovered the boy asleep in a back bedroom.

Police also discovered 60 prescription pills in Bordelon's vehicle.

It wasn't immediately clear if Bordelon has an attorney.
