Police search for bank robbery suspects

HOUSTON Two masked gunmen robbed a Wells Fargo bank inside a Randalls on W. Bellfort at S. Kirkwood in southwest Houston. Police say two bank employees were hit with the butt of a gun during the robbery, and one of them received medical attention. The gunmen got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

A short time later, police spotted the suspects in a neighborhood near W. 43rd and Costa Rica. A search was underway in the area.

According to HISD officials, Scarborough High School on Costa Rica at Cheshire was on modified lockdown for a period of time. This means the entryways have been locked, but an exit remains open. An increased number of HISD police officers are present at the school. The lockdown status has since been lifted.
