Couple robbed at gunpoint during stroll

Crime Stoppers and HPD Robbery Investigators need help from the public in identifying a suspect who robbed an elderly couple after they declined to give him "five dollars for gas money."On Thursday, January 22, 2009 at approximately 7:50pm, the two victims were enjoying an evening stroll in their neighborhood on Candlelight Lane in northwest Houston, when the suspect approached them and asked them to give him money. When they declined and kept on walking, the suspect pointed a handgun at them and took what money they had.

The suspect is described as a black male 18-21 years old, about 6'1" tall with a slim build. He wore a hooded jacket with a large light and dark plaid pattern. A composite sketch of the suspect has been created. Investigators believe the suspect may frequent the basketball courts at nearby Candlelight Park since he was walking from that location.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-8477 (TIPS) hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, arrest and charging of any suspect in this case. All tipsters remain anonymous.
