Lightning starts two home fires

June 24, 2008 8:06:15 PM PDT
Tuesday's storms brought lightning that started two house fires in The Woodlands. About 12:30pm, lightning struck a pine tree in front of a townhome, then traveled down the tree and hit the home. A UPS delivery truck driver spotted smoke and called 911.

Fire fighters arrived and quickly put out that fire, but around that same time, lightning hit another home, starting another fire. That one was put out before fire fighters arrived.

No one was hurt by either fire or the lightning.
