For the first time, we can see what Bellaire officers saw on the day of the violent 2016 Law Street mass shooting.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- One day after West University Police released bodycam video of the 2016 Law Street mass shooting, we're now getting to see what Bellaire officers saw as they searched for the shooter.

In the dramatic video obtained by Eyewitness News, you can hear gunshots as officers try to pin down the location of Nathan Desai.

The 46-year-old attorney was shooting at every vehicle that drove by, dressed in a replica World War II German SS uniform.

Alan Wakim was in the middle of it all. We showed him the moment after his car was shot up by Desai.

Bodycams from three West University police officers captures the chaotic moments in a violent mass shooting in Houston.

"It's like I'm seeing a movie, because I don't remember much of this," Wakim said. "There was a lot going on through my mind. I remember just trying to get to my wife."

The new video also shows police after Desai was fatally wounded.

You can see police cautiously approaching his body, concerned about wires that were sticking out of his hand. The fear was he might have a bomb.

Hours after that video was shot, the scene was cleared, but the memories are still fresh.

Wakim said he's even made friends with another survivor of last year's violent mass shooting.

"You're just in disbelief all these events just took place," Wakim said.
