Here's how much cooler it gets this week
The first of two cold fronts is here, and temperatures are only expected to get lower. The ABC13 weather team walks us through what to expect by Wednesday.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- You'll feel a noticeable drop in temperatures Tuesday morning as cooler Pacific air blows through Southeast Texas, and it will get even colder later this week after a front with chilly Canadian air blows in.

With a bright, sunny sky and because this Pacific air is dry but not necessarily cold, highs will top out in the low 80s. The humidity is low, so it will feel rather comfortable.

When can we expect the bigger cool down this week?

We'll have to wait until Wednesday morning before we feel the impacts of the next cold front. That's when a cold breeze from Canada will arrive to bring us a string of days with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s and 70s.

Will this front bring any rain?

No. The air will be too dry for any clouds or precipitation to form along the next cold front. We won't have another chance of rain until next week.

What is the early outlook for Thanksgiving Day?

Ahead of Thanksgiving it will get warm and humid again with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s. But on or around Thanksgiving Day we have another cold front penciled in. The timing of this front is in question, but we have some time to figure it out. Right now we have lows in the 60s and highs in the 70s for the holiday with a 20% chance of showers under a partly sunny sky. We'll keep you posted as the holiday forecast comes into greater clarity!

What are you tracking in the tropics?

Sara has dissipated but the moisture from Sara is expected to get pulled across the Gulf bringing rain chances to parts of the U.S. Gulf Coast midweek. Head to our daily Tropical Update page for a complete look at what we're tracking in the tropics.
