HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The rainy weather system from the last few days will clear out of Texas overnight. That leaves us with drier weather to kick off our weekend, but another weather system blowing in from the north could bring a line of strong thunderstorms late Sunday.
Temperatures will remain rain-cooled through sunrise, hovering in the upper 60s and low 70s. Sunshine will break through the clouds on Saturday, warming temperatures into the mid 80s. Brief, isolated showers cannot be ruled out, especially in the morning.
Sunday will be a warm, breezy day with a low near 70 and a high in the mid 80s. We'll be watching the northern horizon carefully as a large severe weather system moves through the Plains and into the Midwest. We will be located on the tail end of this weather system, which could bring a line of severe thunderstorms into Southeast Texas late Sunday afternoon and into the evening.
Probably. The new month of April begins with more powerful weather systems tracking across the country, bringing gusty south winds and occasional lines of thunderstorms blowing in from the north. Rain chances may trend even higher next weekend with the potential for a slow-moving rainmaker in Texas.
Yes! Oak pollen earlier in the week came in at over 9,000 pollen particles per cubic meter of air, which was a new record in Houston for the month of March. By Friday, that count had dropped down to just over 1200, which is below the threshold for an "extreme" tree pollen count.
