HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Freezing Rain Advisory has been issued for our northern counties.

For areas generally along and north of College Station, the advisory goes into effect at noon today. For locations a bit farther south, the advisory goes into effect at 6pm this evening.

Temperatures will continue to drop today behind a strong cold front that moved through last night. Light rain will also fall behind the front today. Tonight the rain will transition to freezing rain where air temperatures fall near and below freezing. That will most likely occur north of Houston, around Conroe, the Woodlands, Liberty, Livingston, Huntsville, College Station and Brenham. Roads and bridges in these areas could become icy by early Tuesday.

A small change in the temperature could have a big impact on our forecast. This storm could surprise us as it unfolds. Check back for updates.
