GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- Several inches of rain have fallen today in Galveston, leading to some street flooding in the area.
Some side streets are flooded in the area.
Eyewitness News saw SUVs sloshing through intersections with water up to the tires and the bottom of some low cars, creating waves on the streets. The rain has stopped for now, but about a foot of water is still standing in many of the intersections.
Water rose fast on the roadways, and water overwhelmed people's gutters, creating waterfalls outside resident's homes.
The main streets are largely unaffected, but many side streets remain waterlogged.
