HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Friday's weather will be a carbon copy of Thursday, except it'll be sunny all day. Another front will roll through Friday evening and cool us down even more this weekend.
It'll turn chilly overnight as temps fall into the upper 40s. Friday afternoon will be sunny and mild, with highs in the middle and upper 60s.
Another cold front will pass through the area Friday evening, just in time for the first day of winter on Saturday. That front will give us our coldest weather of the next 10 days, with lows in the upper 30s and highs around 60 this weekend.
It's looking more likely that it'll be a mild Christmas here in Southeast Texas. At this time, we anticipate morning lows in the 50s and daytime highs in the 70s, with a mostly cloudy sky and a chance of a scattered thunderstorm. The mild weather very well may continue all the way until the New Year.
We see no signs of freezing temperatures in southeast Texas over the next 10 days. Long-range projections indicate we'll have to wait until the first half of January for a decent chance of a freeze in Houston. On average, Houston's first freeze occurs during the second week of December.
