Volunteers hand out water to homeless in downtown Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Volunteers are helping the homeless beat the heat by giving out bottles of cold water.

The group "Houston's Heroes" walked through downtown looking for people in need of relief. They passed out water along with cold towels, umbrellas, sunscreen and hygiene bags.

"I just feel like everybody needs somebody to care for them, I just don't feel like it's that hard to take a few minutes out of your day, not only just to hand out water but to interact with them," said Kaci Zwahr with Houston's Heroes volunteer.
