TxDOT to begin roadwork on Business 249 and FM 2920
TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- TxDOT will start work on Sunday, June 19, to repair the road base and install an asphalt overlay along portions of Business 249 and FM 2920.
The $3.8 million project includes a 1.7-mile section of FM 2920 from Business 249 to Howard Street, a 0.1-mile portion of FM 2920 from the Hwy 249 frontage road to Business 249, and portions of Business 249 north and south of the FM 2920 intersection.
In conjunction with the repair and overlay, the downtown on-street parking along FM 2920 will be removed and a continuous center turn lane will be created. The removal of the on-street parking is part of the implementation plan identified in the FM 2920 Access Management Study, completed in November 2008. Improvements identified in the Study are designed to improve mobility, reduce traffic delays, and improve safety.
