HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Are speed traps illegal? No, not exactly, but they do seem unfair to some motorists.

The National Motorists Association has a special spot on its website where citizens can report "speed traps" in their cities.

Houston is on the list and there are several locations you may want to check out.

The National Motorists Association opposes the use of enforcement tactics that are intended to generate revenue from technical violations of under posted speed. The organization claims the systems are primarily used as a source of revenue rather than to enforce traffic rules.

Some studies show ticketing and speed enforcement might reduce the number of traffic injuries or deaths.
