Fiery crash closes Gulf Fwy at FM 2351
A person has been hospitalized after a fiery crash shuts down the Gulf Freeway.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The inbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway near FM 2351 have reopened after a fiery crash involving an 18-wheeler.

Investigators said the crash happened when a semi approaching Clear Lake City Boulevard noticed his truck was on fire.

When the driver tried to pull over, he slammed into a pickup truck that was already parked in the emergency lane, according to HPD.

We're told the 18-wheeler traveled another quarter mile before it came to a stop after crashing into the truck.

The pickup truck driver was taken to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The cab of the semi went up in a blaze, causing severe damage to the truck.
