HOUSTON (KTRK) -- On a day of giving thanks, the rumors surrounding University of Houston's head coach just took a gut-wrenching turn.
Sources tell ESPN that LSU has zeroed in on Tom Herman and could have a deal in place as early as Saturday.
Herman has been rumored for many coaching positions including the University of Texas and Texas A&M.
The Cougars play their final regular-season game Friday against Memphis, while LSU is playing its final regular-season game Thursday night against Texas A&M.
"I decline comment on that and any other report that's out there," LSU athletic director Joe Allevatold The Advocate minutes before the 25th-ranked Tigers kicked off against the No. 22 Aggies.
LSU released a statement on its Twitter page which disputed reports.
"Contrary to media reports, there has been no decision made on who will be the next football coach at LSU," the tweet said.
