HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Houston bakery known for the turducken of desserts is prepping pies for the Thanksgiving rush.
ABC13's Foti Kallergis was at Three Brothers Bakery helping with the pie making process where they include three times the amount of cherries than normal.
"We make our own filling. We put more cherries than we can find to put in there," Bobby Jucker, chef and owner of Three Brothers Bakery said.
Last week, Three Brothers Bakery shipped out about 2,000 pies. Their best-selling one is pecan pie.
"It ships great. We got voted best pecan pie by Country Living Magazine," Jucker said.
The bakery has rebounded well after the shop was flooded by Hurricane Harvey.
"We knew we had to reopen quickly. We had all of our employees and a restoration company cleaning for weeks. And we're still cleaning. It's a process," Jucker said.
Aside from the pies and other desserts, Three Brothers Bakery offers a massive cake called the Pumpecapple Piecake.
The cake is famous worldwide for its size and flavor. It stands 11 inches tall and weighs 23 lbs. It's known to foodies as the "turducken" of desserts, and it is so big that you need a machete to slice it.
"It's a pumpkin pie in a pumpkin spice cake, a pecan pie in chocolate cake, an apple pie in an apple spice cake," said Jucker.
If you don't mind the calories, get ready to fork up $250 for the cake.
