Teen claims he was beaten by police during arrest

TROY, Alabama (KTRK) -- An Alabama family is demanding answers after a 17-year-old was allegedly beaten by police.

Images of the teen's injuries may be disturbing to some viewers.

The graphic pictures have been shared on social media.

Troy Police arrested the teen on Christmas Eve after he ran away from officers.

Police say the teen resisted arrest and kept reaching for his waistband.

That's when officers used physical force.

The teen suffered serious injuries and will have to undergo surgery.

Police say the teen did not have a gun on him.

The family is demanding police release body cam and dashcam video of the incident.
