We're talking about handmade versus machine-rolled this morning. And yes, there is a difference: the price.
Consumer reporter Patricia Lopez found her lucky self over at Alamo Tamales & Taco early this morning. She was greeted with a plate full of classic, handmade pork tamales.
The good news is that you still have time to order tamales for the holidays, but it pays to put those orders in early.

Sometimes lines can swell to a 15 or 30 minute wait at Alamo Tamales & Taco.
Their managers tell us they will have plenty in stock this year to feed your family for Christmas.
Now, let's talk price: You can expect to pay $7.50 for a dozen machine-rolled tamales, and $13.26 plus tax for a dozen handmade.

Alamo sells chicken, pork, and jalapeno and cheese varieties.
Beef handmade tamales, meantime, are $14 plus tax per dozen.
It is definitely worth it to splurge on the hand-rolled tamales, however. These ladies roll them by hand, and it is a labor of love that won't go to waste!
