HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A robber didn't realize he'd be leading authorities right to him when he held up a T-Mobile store in north Harris County.

Deputy constables arrested the suspect at his home a few miles away from the store. They say he pointed a gun at employees and told them to put cell phones, iPads and laptops in a bag. But they slipped in something else, too.

"Along with that, a tracker was placed in the bag. As soon as he left the store they activated the tracker and was able to direct deputies where the suspect stopped," said Lt. Walter Stensland with Harris County Pct. 4 Constable's Office.

Deputies tracked the suspect to his home and found him looking out the window as they set up a perimeter. They say he confessed to the robbery and turned over the stolen property.

No one was hurt in the robbery.
