Man found dead in Clear Lake-area home with injury to back of his head, Houston Police Department says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police said an investigation is underway after a man was found dead in his home in the Clear Lake area on Monday night.

The Houston Police Department said that officers responded to a home located in the 16200 block of Seahorse Drive at about 9:35 p.m.

Investigators said the 38-year-old man was found inside his bedroom with a laceration to the back of his head. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene, where they pronounced the victim dead, officials said.

Authorities said the identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, with the cause of death to be determined by an autopsy.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing. HPD said anyone with information on this incident is advised to contact the department's Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
