Deadly crash on South Beltway 8 shuts down westbound main lanes, Pct. 7 says
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A deadly crash on the South Beltway 8 has shut down westbound main lanes of the tollway on Saturday morning, Harris County Constable Precinct 7 said.
According to TranStar, the crash happened at about 8 a.m. and involved a heavy truck. TranStar reported that the crash is affecting four westbound lanes of the beltway after Bellfort Avenue.
Details are limited. Authorities have not revealed how the crash happened or who was affected.
TranStar video of the scene shows heavy law enforcement presence and emergency vehicles.
Just before 10 a.m., delays were 15 minutes.
