Man dead, investigation underway after caller witnessed body dumped in SW Houston, HPD says
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A death investigation is underway after a witness called the police, saying they witnessed a body being dumped at an apartment complex, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD said the call came in after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday about the 5700 block of Rampart Street in southwest Houston.
While they did not confirm that the body was deceased when it was dropped off at the location, they did confirm that a man is dead and an investigation is underway.
When ABC13 arrived at the scene, Reporter Joe McCoy witnessed what appeared to be a body with a sheet on top of it.
The woman who reportedly called 911 spoke to Eyewitness News about what she saw.
"They threw the [victim] to the floor," Veronica Alvear said. "He has bruising on his neck ... like they choked him."
