Church helps prepare students for new school year with blessings

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A local church gave students well wishes for the new school year by blessing their backpacks.

The blessing of the backpacks was held at St. Francis Episcopal Church.

This event is in its 10 year now, and it invites students to bring their backpacks to services for a blessing.

Church officials also want this event to remind students about the importance of making good choices.
