Cy Ranch knocks off Cinco Ranch

CYPRESS, TX -- Cy Ranch football players didn't mind Cinco Ranch popping up as their area playoff opponent. It's not often you get to avenge a regular season loss in the playoffs.

"Playing them earlier in the season played a big role in it," Cy Ranch junior quarterback Collin Rock said. "That gave us a reason for vengeance, coming back at them."

Cy Ranch got even in a 42-20 win over Cinco Ranch on Friday at the Berry Center in the UIL Region 3-6A, Division I area football playoffs.

Cinco Ranch beat Cy Ranch, 19-7 in Week 1. But most importantly, the win puts the Mustangs in the regional semifinals for the second time in three seasons. It's the ninth straight win for Cy Ranch.
