SpaceX releases video of explosion during ocean landing attempt

SpaceX has posted video showing a spectacular explosion after mission managers attempted to land a rocket on a platform in the ocean.

In the video, you can see the Falcon 9 rocket quickly descending from space. It touches down on the platform briefly, but tipped over because of "excess lateral velocity."

The rocket then explodes, sending debris flying into the water.

The next water landing attempt is scheduled for June.
