Houston Texans sixth annual Running of the Bulls

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Texans are playing an away game but they certainly had a lot of support Sunday at NRG Park.

Thousands of Texans fans turned out to run Sunday morning for a good cause.

It was the 6th year for the Running of the Bulls. The event was sold out with 5,500 runners participating.

300 volunteers helped make the event possible.

The 5K run goes all around NRG Park and ends on the field.

"They actually get to run in on the actual turf and the actual field that the Houston Texas play on," said Madison, a Houston Texan Cheerleader who cheered on the runners.

"We felt like this is a positive thing we can do with our friends and the kids can build bonds that are really around positive activities," said participant Rhonda Waddle.

Money raised from the run goes to the Texans Foundation, which supports a number of local organizations including the Food Bank and the Boys & Girls Club.
