HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- This segment takes a look at the book "Thursday Night Lights," which details the story of the all-black Prairie Interscholastic League.
For half a century, African American athletes played in the segregated PVIL, which spawned some of the greatest athletes in sports. The book's title comes from the night black schools were allowed to use football stadiums that did not interfere with white school games on Friday nights.
