Cynthia Cisneros speaks with students at San Jacinto Jr College

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- San Jacinto College South Campus hosted VP of Community Affairs Cynthia Cisneros.

Cynthia spoke with students belonging to the San Jacinto College Women of Integrity and Men of Honor programs.

The Men of Honor program was developed to help increase graduation rates among African-American male students.

In the program trained faculty, staff, community members and students serve as mentors, offering guidance, encouragement, and support.

Some activities include regular meetings, guest speaker forums, community service projects, and participation in regional, state, and national conferences.

Since the Men of Honor program began in 2009, San Jacinto College South Campus has seen an increase in the number of students that stayed enrolled and an increase in the number of students who passed their course work.

Women of Integrity is a program for female students. Their missions is to empower the women of San Jacinto College to succeed without limits by providing direction, leadership, and growth to a life of purpose.
