Smash and grab ATM burglary: 2 arrested after police chase

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two people were arrested this morning with an ATM in the back of their truck after a smash and grab-style burglary and a chase in northeast Houston, police say.

Houston police say witnesses saw the burglary happening at a Texaco station in the 3800 block of Gessner at Westpark and flagged down an officer with a description of the vehicle. The officer spotted the truck and a chase started.

The chase ended with the suspects fleeing to the North Loop near Neches Street. They were seen bailing out of the truck and running across the freeway. Police arrested them shortly after.
