SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- A Silver Alert for an 86-year-old man with a cognitive impairment was canceled Sunday morning, Harris County Sheriff's Office said.

Leo Henry Morovich had been missing since early Sunday morning after he had been last seen at 1 a.m. in the 17500 block of Methil Drive.

Silver Alerts are issued to notify people when authorities need help locating missing people, especially senior citizens with cognitive issues.

Texas is one of 37 states that have Silver Alert or similar notification systems in place to help find missing seniors.
