HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police in southwest Houston are questioning a man who drove his wife to the hospital with a gunshot wound this morning.
He arrived at Memorial Hermann Southwest around 1:30am. Security at the hospital told an off-duty Houston Police Department officer working an extra job at the hospital about a woman with a gunshot arrived.
The man who brought her in said she was his wife and claimed she was shot in the head during a drive-by shooting. The victim, now identified by police as Maria Alvarado, 32, died.
Police found a gun in his minivan. They are now trying to discover where the shooting happened and the man who brought Alvarado in is being questioned.
