Schlitterbahn offering $500 bonus to join team this summer

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Schlitterbahn Galveston wants to give you $500 to join its team!

The water park is looking to hire more people as it prepares to open for the 2021 season and a $500 bonus is being offered to all eligible seasonal associates. A wide range of positions are available, including lifeguards, positions in park services, food and beverage, security and more.

The company hires associates as young as 15 years old for some positions, but anyone - including students, retirees, and teachers - are welcome to apply. Plus, starting wages for many seasonal roles have increased to up to $12 an hour.

"Seasonal associates play an instrumental role in delivering on our commitment to creating memorable experiences for all our guests, and in order to attract and retain those associates, we need to offer competitive wages and benefits," said Schlitterbahn general manager Darren Hill. "For many associates, these jobs help pave the way for future careers and provide the skills, experiences, memories and friends that will last a lifetime. As a former lifeguard, I can attest to the career opportunities Schlitterbahn provides."

Schlitterbahn Galveston is billed by the company as a 26-acre "oasis of thrilling waterpark adventures" that features 33 attractions. According to Schlitterbahn, it's home to a record-breaking water coaster and an award-winning river system.
