7-month-old dies after being left in hot car
SAN ANTONIO, TX (KTRK) -- A 7-month-old baby died in a hot car Friday in a San Antonio Walmart parking lot.
The child's hot car death is the sixth one in Texas this year. It's also the 26th hot car death this year nationwide.

Police said the baby's father, who is a Walmart employee, told police he forgot to take the baby to day care before he got to work around 6:15 a.m.
When the father went out to his car, he made the tragic discovery.

Police say they arrived to find the father leaned over the baby. They said it was obvious nothing could be done and that the baby had died.
TranStar launched a PSA this week encouraging drivers to create habits so they don't leave their children behind.
In the PSA, you see a man take off his shoes before getting into the car. Once he arrives at his destination he puts the shoes back on. The idea is, once he arrives he had to put his shoes on to get out of the car, thus, triggering a reminder that there is also a child in the backseat.
"How many times have we all been driving somewhere and habits kick in and we go our normal path and then suddenly we find ourselves going, oh I'm not supposed to be here. I'm supposed to be there, that's how the tragedy occurs. People get distracted," said Harris County Judge Ed Emmett.

The father was taken to a hospital for observation after complaining of chest pain.
No charges have been filed at this time. KSAT reports that police are still investigating.
