Woman's body discovered in Willis forest

WILLIS, TX (KTRK) -- Two people discovered a dead body while driving into the Sam Houston National Forest in Willis on Thursday.



At approximately 1:50 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 15100 block of Calvary Road in reference to a welfare check.



"Two individuals that were driving a vehicle into the Sam Houston National Forest spotted what they believed to be a body in the woods near the edge of the dirt roadway," the MCSO release stated. "The individuals contacted MCSO to report what they discovered."
