Raccoon gets a helping hand
Close call for baby raccoon

ROCK HALL, MD -- A baby raccoon was rescued before meeting a terrible end on July 4th when people boating nearby spotted him frantically swimming and struggling to keep his head above water.

A video posted by DeltaBlue3 shows how the people on the boat improvised and saved the small marsupial by throwing him a life preserver that they tied a rope to.

Giving the little guy a much needed break. The onlookers then passed the rope to another boat to tow the baby raccoon to shore.

The video was shared on Reddit by some of the rescuers who believed that the raccoon may have been lost and swimming for hours overnight prior to help arriving.
