
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a suspect charged in a deadly shooting that killed a woman in southeast Houston.
Dasja Wilmore, 25, is charged with murder in the shooting death of 26-year-old Asia Stewart, according to HPD.
HPD said officers responded to a shooting call around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday at an apartment complex on the 7400 block of Calhoun Street. Upon arrival, officers found that Stewart was transported to a hospital by a private vehicle. Stewart was later pronounced dead, police said.
Police said that further investigation revealed multiple people were hanging out within the apartment complex parking lot when a physical altercation took place involving multiple females. According to HPD, Stewart was enlisted to help a friend when Wilmore intervened and began fighting with her. Wilmore then pulled out a firearm and shot Steward more than once, police said.
