Mother indicted for 2 counts of capital murder in shooting of her kids, Brazoria County docs show

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman charged with killing 2 of her children in October was indicted for capital murder this week, court records reveal.

According to Brazoria County court records obtained by ABC13, Oninda Romelus was indicted on Wednesday by a grand jury for two counts of capital murder.

Court records also show that Romelus was indicted with 2 counts of aggravated assault on Nov. 20.

ABC13 first covered this story when the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office accused Romelus of shooting her four children in a car in Angleton on Oct. 4.

Authorities said a 13-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene. A 9-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were flown to a Houston hospital for their injuries, according to officials.
