
SPLENDORA, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities said a man has been arrested and charged with the deadly hit-and-run that happened in Spelndora on Thursday.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, they identified and arrested 35-year-old Jeremy Michael Buckner in connection with the deadly crash that occurred near the 15700 block of Highway 59 at about 7:20 a.m. on Thursday.
MCSO detectives said they were requested by the Splenodara Police Department to investigate a man's body that was found along the highway. The victim was later identified as Gary Belvin, officials said, with initial findings indicating he had been hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Investigators said they were able to gather evidence to identify Buckner as the suspect before arresting him on Saturday. Buckner is currently in custody at the Montgomery County Jail and is charged with the second-degree felony of collision involving injury or death, according to officials.
