Witness in Houston ICE shooting released from detention center: lawyer
A federal judge ruled that one of the three men who was in the van during a deadly ICE shooting was to be released.

CONROE, Texas (KTRK) -- Jose Trinidad Rojas Pliego, one of the three men who were in the van with Lorenzo Salgado Araujo when he was shot and killed by an ICE agent, was released on Wednesday from the immigration detention center in Conroe after a judge's ruling, his attorney said.

In an update on Wednesday afternoon from Rojas Pliego's attorney, the family confirmed that Rojas Pliego had been released.

The order was filed on Monday and stated that Rojas Pliego was to be released within 48 hours.

Court documents show the judge agreed with Rojas Pliego's argument, essentially stating his Fifth Amendment right to due process was being violated.

Attorneys for the other two witnesses told ABC13 they have also filed similar petitions and are now waiting to see whether a judge will order their release.
