Driver shot inside vehicle during fight with pedestrian in The Heights, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after an argument between a pedestrian and someone in a vehicle turned deadly on Thursday in the Heights area, police said.

Just before 1:30 p.m., officers with the Houston Police Department were called to a shooting scene in the 200 block of Archer.

HPD said there was a fight between a pedestrian and the driver of a grey Honda Civic. At some point during the fight, the pedestrian shot the driver, who then lost control of the car and crashed.

Police said the man, still inside the vehicle, was dead when they arrived. The suspect reportedly fled on foot and is still at large.
