Woman injured after being attacked by dogs

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman was transported to the hospital after being attacked by at least two dogs in north Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

It happened just before 1pm in the 13000 block of S. Peachfield.

According to authorities, the woman suffered multiple bites to her arms and chest. She was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital

Her sister identifies the victim as Celiflora Maldonado, 46. She says Maldonado was unloading groceries when the dogs attacked. She crawled up to the door of her home, with the dogs still biting her, and screamed for help.

Family members threw shoes at the dogs to scare them away. Finally, the dogs got distracted by a piece of meat, and ran off.

Animal control took both dogs into custody.
