Official charged with stealing thousands from Pasadena Rodeo

PASADENA, TX (KTRK) -- An official with the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo is in hot water after she allegedly stole thousands of dollars from the organization.

Angela Marie Hawthorne is charged with stealing nearly $33,000 from the Pasadena Rodeo between January 2013 and January 2016.

Hawthorne served as the rodeo's business manager for the past 7 years.

According to court documents, Hawthorne is accused of creating fake payroll checks.

She is currently in the Harris County Jail on $66,000 bond.
