HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman is charged with theft after authorities say she stole UPS packages filled with Christmas gifts from a resident's doorstep on Sunday in northwest Harris County.

The Precinct 4 Constable's Office says a neighbor in the 12900 block of Wincrest Court called authorities and said a woman stole the packages and fled, but the witness managed to get a vehicle description a partial license plate number.

Deputies searched the area and found the car matching the witness' description just outside the neighborhood. The witness identified the driver as the alleged thief, according to authorities.

Jessica L. Jordan is now charged with misdemeanor theft.

Precinct 4 says the packages -- which contained toys for the victim's grandchildren -- made it back to the rightful owner.
