HPD officer involved in car crash in east Houston

A Houston police officer was involved in a car crash Monday afternoon in east Houston.

The accident occurred at Jensen Drive and Melbourne Street.

Details of the wreck weren't immediately available, but we're told EMS responded to the scene and didn't transport anyone.

Police say the officer was in his own vehicle, which he'd painted to look like a patrol car.
