House fire raged on Houston's south side

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We have new video in of a roaring house fire on Wichita near Tierwester, just south of Texas Southern University.

Everyone in the house was able to evacuate unharmed.

The fire started at about 5am, but it raged for over an hour before firefighters could get control.

The family says that they just bought a new air conditioning window unit and believe that it may have started the fire.

Family members have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help their relatives recover from the fire.
